Ride’s thoughts on the 100 Cycle Challenge

A feature in the September 2017 issue of Ride magazine is entitled, “Road is dead, long live road”. It details the basic reasons to get on the road, as well as the introductory equipment to do so. So, the 100 Cycle Challenge firstly presents a great opportunity for longer-distance event, on the road, with the organization and safety in place for it to be a successful event. Secondly, once you have completed the Telkom 947 Challenge in late 2017, and have moved on to the Cape Town Cycle Tour in 2018, you’re not finished. You can maintain that fitness you have gained and give yourself another chance to enjoy an event.

Thirdly, this point is directed mainly at those living in the Western Cape.  Here is a cycling event that can pull you out of your comfort zone – Gauteng. Test your fitness, your cycling strength and endurance by participating in an event at altitude and then compare the times you achieve on Cape Town Cycle Tour against a race at altitude.
